We remember not when dreams we see-
Not when planning tomorrow- what we shall be?
We remember not when merry we make
Not when credits of achievements we take.
We remember not when we dance in joy.
Not when beautiful sights we enjoy
We remember not when melodies we hear-
Not in the moments with those who are dear.
.
We remember not the good times we spend
Not even when with our closest friend .
We remember not when we get lucky.
Not once do we remember, when happy .
We remember not when adulation we receive
Oh! who are we trying to deceive?
Why is it that we remember only when we are hurt,
Only when we lie face down in the dirt?
Is this just a human fetish-vain ?
Or are we closest to God in our Pain?
